Designers, manufacturers, builders and constructors can enter into various categories for the 8th EUROPEAN ALUMINIUM AWARD 2012 Industrial Design & Engineering. The Aluminium Award is given to products or projects in which aluminium has been applied in an innovative manner. 6 Awards will be given in 2 categories: “Consumer Products” and “Industrial Products”.

For Consumer Products there are 2 Awards for Design and Innovation. The Industrial Products category is divided into 4 segments: “Transport & Automotive”, “Building & Construction”, “Mechanical Engineering & Electronics” and “Production Techniques”.

Special prizes are available for Rolling, Casting, Extrusion and Surface Treatment.

In addition, the Jury will give an Overall Jury Award for the entry with the most striking contribution to “Environment, Sustainability & Energy Efficiency”.

EXTRA is the Young Designers Prize to honour motivated students and independant young designers and engineers under 30 for their creative ideas.

The EUROPEAN ALUMINIUM AWARD is an initiative of the Dutch Aluminium Centre and supported by the European Aluminium Association (EAA), the GDA - the German Aluminium Association - and ALUMINIUM 2012.
Leading aluminium companies like ALCOA and Aleris are involved as main sponsor of the competition.
