Country United Kingdom
Product Name One Lothbury

In the center of London an old building is refurbished to meet today’s  standard of building regulations. This building is on the “heritage”  list of the City of London and therefore the outside lime stone brick façade must stay.

It’s completely refurbished. Just the outside façade at the front of the building  should stay. The rest (backside façade , floors and roof) were taken away.  During the building process a steel framework supported the front façade.

The building is in fact to divide in three different refurbishment solutions.  This project was done by Oskomera Gevelbouw B.V., a dedicated Hueck customer with a large experience in the UK building market.

Front façade:  The floors came back en de holes in the front façade where filled with new  thermally broken aluminum windows. The windows have an very special  look. They were “shot peened” and then anodized in a special anodizing  color.

9 th  Floor :  On the 9 th  floor there came an curved stick mullion system with structural  glazed elements. The curve thermally broken panes were put in the stick  mullion system, complete with a sloped roof section and outward opening  structural glazed doors. The stick mullion profiles were also “shot- peened”  and then anodized in a special anodizing color.

Backside façade :  The backside o the building is refurbished  with an unitized system  because there was no room for (erecting the façade)  scaffolding the  elements were placed in position by a crane. The element itself is also  partial structural glazed. The unitized profiles have the same surface  treatment as the rest.
